Ultrasound General/Vascular Technologist (Contract)
Location: Washington, Iowa
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Employment Type: Contract
Shift: Full-time, 32-40 hours per week (8 or 10 hour days)
Job Summary
Perform high-quality general ultrasound imaging including abdominal, OB/GYN, and vascular studies. Assist radiologists, manage exam orders via EMR, and ensure quality control and equipment maintenance. Maintain a safe, efficient work environment and collaborate with other departments to enhance patient and staff experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general, abdominal/OB-GYN, and vascular ultrasound exams according to policies and procedures
- Assist radiologists with procedures and exam setup
- Use EMR systems to generate and complete exam orders
- Perform, record, and analyze quality control data to maintain accuracy and precision
- Conduct equipment checks, clean work areas, and monitor environmental conditions per regulatory standards
- Transport patients as needed
- Manage PACS systems for image release and transmission
- Communicate supply needs to ensure uninterrupted testing
- Recommend process improvements for efficiency
- Maintain professional conduct and promote company values
- Participate in ongoing education, training, and competency development
- Flexibility to adjust hours and cover other shifts as needed
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist, including experience within the last year
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification
- Experience as a Vascular Technologist
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Physical Requirements
- Sit less than 1 hour per workday
- Stand 7-8 hours per workday
- Walk 6-7 hours per workday
- Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, and reaching above shoulder level (20-30 times/day)
- Ability to carry up to 50 lbs and lift awkward weights over 100 lbs as needed
- Constant fine dexterity required (typing, writing, filing)
