Registered Nurse (RN) - Contract

Job Summary
The RN partners with residents and care providers to create a safe and therapeutic environment by providing direct and indirect care.
Units Include:
- 3 East: 31-bed specialized unit for Alzheimer's/dementia residents. Care involves verbal and non-verbal communication techniques and managing behaviors associated with dementia in a home-like environment.
- Transitional Rehabilitation Unit: 42-bed unit providing short-term skilled nursing and rehab services for patients recovering from fractures, joint replacements, back surgery, stroke, and other short-term illnesses or injuries. Nursing services include IV therapy, wound care, and geriatric assessment and management.
- 3 West: 42-bed long-term care unit providing care for residents needing long-term placement in a home-like environment.
Job Requirements
Education:
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or equivalent.
- Valid State of Maine or compact RN license required.
Experience:
- 1-3 years previous RN experience preferred.
Skills:
- Medical terminology preferred.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills required.
- Ability to work well within a team of care providers.
- Flexibility to cover 24/7 shifts and float to other units as needed.
Additional Information
- Candidates with licensure hits will not be considered.
- Up to 16 hours of orientation is unpaid.
- The facility may cancel up to 3 shifts during the 13-week contract.
- Candidate must reside outside of a 50-mile radius from the facility.
- BLS/BCLS certification required.
