Overview

• 12-hour day shifts
• 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• RN license
• BLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS
• Driver’s license required at submittal
• Must be within 50 miles
• Cannot be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity

Role Details

• ICU RN department
• 33 beds
• Average daily census is 16
• Adult nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2-3
• RNs are required to titrate drips
• Common titratable or set-rate drips include cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation
• RNs must read, interpret, and document telemetry strips
• Floating may include PCU and occasionally MedSurg
• Weekend requirement is every other weekend
• Minimum of 2 holidays within the contract time frame
• 1 shift of unit-specific orientation
• RTO must be submitted upfront; additional RTO will not be approved
• Artificial nails are prohibited in patient care areas

• Overdose/substance abuse
• Adult sepsis
• Post-stent
• Pacemaker placement
• Stroke
• Vascular cases
• Renal failure
• Heart failure
• Respiratory distress

Scheduling Notes

• Self-scheduling is available for core staff; travelers are added in
• Block scheduling is not guaranteed
• Block scheduling is not approved unless it is weekends only
• If called back in after being placed on call, arrival is required within 30 minutes
