Unit Overview

• Labor & Delivery unit
• 17 L&D beds
• 2 OR suites for C-sections
• 4 triage beds
• 16 postpartum beds
• About 250 births per month
• Level 3 high-risk facility

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• BLS
• ACLS
• AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring
• NRP
• Must be independent and confident with vaginal exams, internal monitor placement, high-risk laboring/delivery patients, and antepartum patients
• Must be able to titrate drips
• Must be able to read fetal monitor strips
• Cerner experience required

Responsibilities

• Circulate and recover C-section patients
• Float to mother-baby and other units as needed
• Titrate drips including magnesium sulfate, Pitocin, insulin, and heparin

Schedule Requirements

• Every other weekend
• Holidays as needed
• No call or standby requirement
• First to float

Additional Details

• 3-day unit orientation for travelers
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Light blue OR scrubs available for nurse use
• Certified surgical techs and secretaries support the unit
• OB/neonatologist and anesthesia are in house 24/7
• No tele techs on the unit
