Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Schedule

• Nights
• 3 x 12-hour shifts per week
• Weekend coverage required every other weekend or 2 weekend shifts per schedule
• Holiday rotation required
• May be asked to float to other units

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• BLS certification
• NIHSS certification
• Strong neuro experience
• Experience caring for stroke patients and implementing NIH
• EPIC experience
• Must have NIHSS in hand at time of submission
• Must be able to work in a stepdown setting

Preferred Qualifications

• ACLS certification
• Experience with EVDs

Unit Details

• Neuro stepdown and epilepsy monitoring unit
• 31 beds total
• Patient ratios:

  • Stepdown: 1:3
  • Floor/EMU: 1:5-6
• Charge nurse available 24/7
• Nurse aides available
• Telemetry is used on the unit, but nurses do not read strips
• Respiratory therapy is available 24/7
• Floor vents are managed by RT and physicians

Submission Requirements

• Only one submission at a time across the system
• Driver’s license address must be outside 50 miles from the facility
• Previous permanent staff must have been gone for 2 years
• Previous travelers who worked there for 1 full year must have been gone for 2 years
• License hits must be disclosed at time of submission
• Travel teams must be submitted together in one email
• Maximum of 2 candidates per opening

Orientation

• 2 shifts on the unit

Dress Code

• Royal blue scrubs
