- 13 weeks
- 36 hours per week
- 12-hour day shifts
Unit Overview
- Cardio Thoracic unit
- 70 beds
- Patient population includes MI, CHF, atrial fibrillation, COPD, pacemaker/AICD placement, lung surgery, esophagectomy, and general medical overflow
Required Qualifications
- Active Illinois RN license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
- BLS
- Ability to interpret EKGs
- Ability to titrate medications/drips
- Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips
Preferred Qualifications
- ACLS recommended
Schedule
- 12-hour shifts: 7:00 AM–7:30 PM
- Every other weekend
- Holiday rotation required
Responsibilities
- Titrate Cardizem and heparin drips
- Float to other general medical units
- Provide care for patients on CPAP or BiPAP when part of their home regimen
- May assist with heated high flow in special circumstances with COVID patients
Additional Notes
- Local candidates within 50 miles are accepted
- Drug screen required
- Requested time off, clinician SSN last four digits, and middle initial are needed for submission
- No call or standby requirement at this time
- Orientation is typically 1 shift or part of one
- Scrubs may be any color except children/cartoon prints
