Registered Nurse (Med Surg) - North Dakota, Fargo

Job Details

• Specialty: Med Surg (Medical-Surgical)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour shifts, rotating day and night shifts every other weekend
• Hours per Week: 36
• Unit Size: 10 beds
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio:

  • Day shift: 5:1
  • Night shift: 6:1
• Floating: Primarily assigned to 2W Med Surg unit but may float to any Med Surg unit on any campus in Fargo as needed

Required Qualifications

• Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of Med Surg nursing experience (higher requirement takes precedence)
  • Must have recent travel nursing experience (completed prior travel contracts; first-time travelers will not be considered)
  • Experience working in a larger hospital (minimum 250 beds) with a Level 2 or higher trauma center
• Licenses/Certifications:

  • Current RN license in North Dakota or a compact state, or willingness to obtain one
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Technical Skills:

  • Proficient with Epic EMR system
  • Familiarity with equipment such as AccuDose, Bladder Scanner, Phillips monitors, and Telemetry

Job Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to general medical-surgical patients
• Collaborate with inter-professional colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
• Demonstrate competency and practice within the full scope of nursing expertise, applying appropriate age and population-specific standards

Additional Information

• Scrubs color: Navy Blue
• Must badge in and out at the facility
• Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are not eligible
• Candidates living 61 to 80 miles away may be considered at a local rate adjustment
• Submission must note if the clinician has previously worked for the facility; if so, there must be a minimum 6-month gap since last employment
