Registered Nurse - Rapid Response

Location: Augusta, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 6 weeks
Hours per Week: 48
Schedule: Every other weekend required
Unit: Freestanding Emergency Department (FSED)
Patient Ratios: 1:4 to 1:6 (acuity based)
Unit Beds: 11


Job Description

  • Provide rapid response nursing care in an emergency setting.
  • Perform procedures including IV insertion, Foley catheter insertion, NG tube insertion.
  • Assist providers with various common emergency department procedures.
  • Responsible for running point of care (POC) labs.
  • Set up and adjust respiratory equipment (BIPAP, ventilators) with remote assistance available.
  • Frequent admissions to main hospital from FSED.
  • Use Meditech documentation system.
  • Work with cardiac/vital sign monitors, CT, X-ray, and POC lab equipment.
  • Floating to main ED possible.

Required Certifications

  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia
  • Minimum 2 years of Rapid Response nursing experience, including experience within the last year
  • Emergency Department (ED) experience
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Positive, flexible, team-oriented, and patient-centered attitude

Additional Information

  • New facility with all new equipment.
  • Opportunity to develop skills with respiratory equipment and POC labs.
  • Unit staffing includes RNs and Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), with PCTs scheduled mid-shift.
  • Patient experience protocols include AIDET communication, narration of care, and SBAR handoffs.
  • Dress code: Royal Blue Scrubs.

This position offers a fast-paced emergency nursing experience in a modern FSED setting with opportunities to expand clinical skills.
