LPN/LVN - Rehab (Travel Position)

Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Overview

• Work in a 49-bed acute inpatient rehabilitation facility specializing in stroke, brain and spinal cord injuries, amputations, complex orthopedic injuries, and other conditions requiring inpatient rehab.
• Patient population: Adults with high acuity needs requiring inpatient rehabilitation services.
• Facility accredited by The Joint Commission and CARF for Comprehensive Integrated Inpatient Rehabilitation and Stroke Specialty Programs.
• The unit functions similarly to a medical-surgical unit with high acuity patients.

Work Schedule & Environment

• Shift: 12-hour shifts, from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• Weekend hours: Every other weekend plus holiday rotations
• Call requirements: Yes
• Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 7 patients
• Equipment used includes mobility aids (ceiling lifts, Sara Stedy, Sara Plus, slide boards), vital sign machines, EKG, blood glucose monitors, and EPIC electronic health record system.
• Mandatory 30-minute unpaid break per shift (two 15-minute paid breaks included).
• Staff must adhere to attendance and tardy policies and cannot stay past shift end without approval.
• May be required to float to a satellite inpatient rehab facility within 20 minutes in the near future.

Required Qualifications

• Valid LPN / LVN license in Wisconsin
• Minimum 2 years of LPN / LVN experience, including experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Experience in inpatient settings, including rehabilitation and skilled nursing environments
• Medical-Surgical (Med Surg) experience
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record system

Additional Notes

• Nurses are expected to assist with patient safety tasks such as helping CNAs and answering call lights.
• Local candidates will not be accepted for this travel assignment.

Hours

• Approximately 36 hours per week.
