Registered Nurse (Med Surg) - Travel Assignment

Location: Lander, Wyoming
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36

Job Description

• Provide direct, individualized nursing care based on scientific nursing principles.
• Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
• Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medications (oral, subcutaneous, IV).
• Report adverse medication or treatment reactions per nursing protocols.
• Educate patients on surgical procedures and post-treatment home care needs.
• Record patients’ medical information and vital signs accurately and timely.
• Monitor and adjust specialized patient equipment; interpret and record electronic displays.
• Initiate corrective actions for adverse patient symptoms.
• Provide bedside care for a variety of medical patients, including pre- and post-surgery.
• Change dressings, insert catheters, start IVs, and assist physicians during exams and treatments.
• Respond to life-saving situations following nursing standards and protocols.
• Participate in discharge planning and utilize effective time management skills.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Wyoming
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Current ACLS certification
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Current PALS certification

Additional Notes

• This is a travel nursing position.
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
• Candidates must submit all required certifications and licenses with their application.
• Experience with community hospital settings (permanent or contract) is requested.
• Candidates should be prepared to provide availability for interviews within 72 hours.
