RN - Behavioral Health

Overview

• Travel RN position in Holyoke, Massachusetts
• 13-week assignment
• 40 guaranteed hours per week
• Shift: 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM
• Every other weekend required
• No call
• Orientation occurs bi-weekly on Tuesdays

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Massachusetts
• Behavioral Health (2 years of experience)
• Behavioral Health experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Ability to pass medications utilizing Omni Cell

Unit Details

• Behavioral health unit
• Adults 18 and over
• 46 beds
• RN patient ratio: 1:9
• Forensic unit / continuing care setting

Work Environment

• Experience staff and a low restraint environment
• Internal medical support available for medical concerns
• Rehab staff available for group programming
• Psychiatrists on the unit

Common Patient Diagnoses

• Bipolar disorder
• Schizoaffective disorder
• Major depression
• Substance abuse
• Chronic medical conditions including diabetes, hypertension, and COPD

Additional Notes

• Blue scrubs required
• Open-toe shoes, provocative clothing, and tight clothing are not allowed
• BSN is preferred
