Description
RN - Behavioral Health
Overview
- Travel RN position in Holyoke, Massachusetts
- 13-week assignment
- 40 guaranteed hours per week
- Shift: 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM
- Every other weekend required
- No call
- Orientation occurs bi-weekly on Tuesdays
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Massachusetts
- Behavioral Health (2 years of experience)
- Behavioral Health experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Ability to pass medications utilizing Omni Cell
Unit Details
- Behavioral health unit
- Adults 18 and over
- 46 beds
- RN patient ratio: 1:9
- Forensic unit / continuing care setting
Work Environment
- Experience staff and a low restraint environment
- Internal medical support available for medical concerns
- Rehab staff available for group programming
- Psychiatrists on the unit
Common Patient Diagnoses
- Bipolar disorder
- Schizoaffective disorder
- Major depression
- Substance abuse
- Chronic medical conditions including diabetes, hypertension, and COPD
Additional Notes
- Blue scrubs required
- Open-toe shoes, provocative clothing, and tight clothing are not allowed
- BSN is preferred
