Travel assignment

Schedule

Days, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
36 hours per week
At least 2 weekend shifts per month
No call

Unit and patient population

Nephrology/Med-Surg unit
24 beds
Adult and geriatric patients
Patient ratio: 1:4 to 1:6

Required qualifications

Valid RN license in New Mexico
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
BLS issued by American Heart Association
Med Surg experience
Nephrology (1 year of experience)
Nephrology experience within the last year

Preferred

Observation unit experience
Charge nurse experience
Nephrology experience

Pros

Unit is comprised of many travelers. Core staff and travelers have all been fantastic! The unit is set up quite well to manage the surges of patients. It is the only main hospital around so it can definitely provide good experience. Most of the providers I've encountered over the last couple months actually listen to the nurses and are easy to work with.

Cons

It is definitely busy before the size of the town. I can't say I have any other cons.
