Schedule

Day shift, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
Every other weekend
No call
No floating

Unit Overview

Mixed cardiac and medical ICU
Patient population includes DKA, acute respiratory failure, MIs, CABGs, and ventilator patients
Nurse-to-patient ratio: 2:1 for ICU patients and 4:1 for IMCU patients

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Louisiana
CCU - Coronary Care experience within the last year
1 year of experience in CCU - Coronary Care
BLS issued by American Heart Association
ACLS issued by American Heart Association
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Experience with Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps
Experience with Impellas
Experience with post-op cardiovascular surgeries
Experience with CRRT

Preferred Qualifications

1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty
Bachelor of Science in Nursing
1 year of experience in a critical care setting

Onboarding

Newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days
New hires complete precepted onboarding and competency validation
Annual competency verification is required

Additional Notes

Temp-to-perm is a possibility
