Travel RN Opportunity - Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility

Location: Houston, Texas
Employment Type: Travel

Unit Information

Type: Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility
Beds: 20 private beds
Staffing:
- 18 RN FTEs (total staff including therapy and nursing ~60)
- Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 3 RNs, 2 CNAs, 1-3 sitters
- Night Shift: Similar staffing as day
Patient Ratios: Approximately 5:1, occasionally 6:1 if short-staffed
Equipment: Standard nursing equipment plus rehab equipment for transfers
EMR System: Meditech

Required Skills

Start/stop IVs
Wound care
Telemetry
Foley care
Standard Medsurg unit nursing skills
Medication administration

Preferred Skills

Prior experience in Inpatient Rehab Facility or Skilled Nursing Unit

Typical Procedures

Mobilization of patients (to bathrooms, dressing, out of bed mobility)
Daily medication distribution
Medication reconciliation education
Nursing care for discharge to home

Certifications

BLS required
ACLS preferred
Valid nursing license

Work Environment

Dress Code: Royal blue scrubs
Floating: Possible to Med Surg units
Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend (Saturday & Sunday)

Employees are great, days aren’t as heavy. Surgeons are mostly willing to teach since we do have ST students, nursing students, and residents.
