Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) - Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
- Location: Asheville, NC
- Employment Type: Travel Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit Information
- Unit: PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit)
- Number of Beds: 9
- Patient Ratios:
- PICU: 1 RN to 1-2 patients
- Stepdown: 1 RN to 2-3 patients
- Floating Policy: May float to Pediatrics and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
- Scheduling Requirements: In a 6-week schedule, must work 3 weekends
- Documentation System: Cerner
- Equipment: Alaris pumps
- Unit Staffing: Unit secretaries and tech availability; Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) works 9am-9pm; tech shared with PICU
- Dress Code: Navy blue or white scrubs; options include all navy, all white, or navy pants with white tops
- Self-scheduling available
Required Qualifications
- Licenses: Registered Nurse License
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - Required
- Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years PICU experience (highest required)
- Prior Travel Experience: Not specified as required

- Holding for lumbar punctures (LPs)
- Central line dressing changes
