Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse

Overview

• Travel assignment for a Registered Nurse in Medical-Surgical.
• Clinical Resource Team (CRT) role based in Appleton, with primary locations in Appleton and Neenah.
• 13-week contract.
• 12-hour day shifts, starting at 5:30 AM.
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week.
• Must be comfortable floating between units and other facilities.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Wisconsin
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• NIHSS
• Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• Experience with Epic
• Experience with pre-post cardiac catheterization and post-pacemaker care
• Experience with TR (thrombin receptor) bands
• Oncology experience
• Stroke experience
• Ortho Trauma experience

Preferred Qualifications

• AHA ACLS
• 1 travel contract
• Experience with pre-post Cath, post pacemaker, and TR Bands
• Pediatric patient experience
• Strongly preferred: experience in pre/post Cath and post pacemaker care

Unit / Float Scope

• Float to all Medical-Surgical units at Appleton and Neenah.
• May float to all facilities as needed, primarily Neenah and Appleton.
• May also be assigned to smaller locations as needed.
• Unit coverage includes cardiac pre/post, heart cath, pacemakers, stroke, post TNK, and neuro surgery areas.
• Traveler will only take patients within their skillset.

Schedule / Work Expectations

• Weekend rotation up to every other weekend; every weekend candidates may be considered.
• Holiday rotation as needed.
• Missed shifts must be made up within 2 weeks.
• On-call is not required.

Additional Details

• Patient ratio: 1:5-6 for days and nights under the new staffing model.
• RNs are paired with support staff based on acuity.
• Scrub color: Black.
