Location: Greenville, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 10-hour Day Shifts (0700 - 1700 or 0900 - 1900)
Call Requirements: Call and Weekend Call Required

Job Description

Role: RN in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) as a Traveler
Circulating Nurse and Scrub Nurse responsibilities in the OR
Circulating Nurse: Manages overall nursing care in the OR, maintains a safe and comfortable environment
Scrub Nurse: Prepares the sterile field, surgical equipment, and supplies; assists surgeon by passing instruments and managing specimens; performs sponge and supply counts with circulating nurse

Patient Population

Cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgery patients
Cardiac surgeries include:
- Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG)
- Valve repair and replacement (including minimally invasive and robotic valves)
- Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR)
- Left ventricular assist device (LVAD) placement
Vascular surgeries include:
- Open endovascular abdominal aneurysm repair
- Peripheral vascular procedures
- Carotid stenting
- Angioplasty procedures
- Amputations
Thoracic surgeries include:
- Open thoracotomy
- Video-assisted thoracoscopy (VATS)
- Esophageal and hernia repairs
- Bronchoscopy and esophagoscopy
- Robotic-assisted procedures

Facility Information

7 CVOR suites
Staffing ratio: 1:1 RN-to-patient

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
Minimum of 1 year of Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) nursing experience within the last year
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Additional Notes

Must be able to circulate in the OR
80-mile radius travel rule applies
40 hours per week schedule
