Overview

• Location: San Diego, California
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Employment type: Travel allied clinical role
• Shift: 12-hour shifts, mornings
• Scheduled hours: 36 per week

Required Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (3 years of experience)
• Certified Surgical Technologist experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• BLS
• 3 years of experience as a scrub person in a hospital setting
• Orthopedic experience
• Neuro experience
• Robotic experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Approved program for Operating Room Technicians or demonstrated technical skills through on-the-job training
• Scrub Tech certification
• Minimum of high school education

Schedule and Assignment Details

• Start time: 10:30
• On-call requirement: 12 hours of weekend call and 20 hours of weekday call in a 4-week period, with a 30-minute response time
• Weekend schedule includes every other weekend
• One shift per pay period may be canceled without pay

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and unit support in the operating room
• Anticipate procedural needs during cases
• Assist with dressings and cast application as needed
• Pick cases according to physician preference cards
• Maintain count accuracy and instrument tray accountability
• Update surgeon preference cards per site process
• Report exceptions and follow count policies and procedures
• Take initiative to support department objectives and quality improvement
• Participate in teaching
