Location: Louisville, Kentucky

Shift: Night (1900-0730)
Hours: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing safe, effective, patient- and family-centered care on a telemetry unit. The RN assesses, develops, implements, and evaluates individualized care plans, focusing on quality outcomes and patient satisfaction. The role includes supervising licensed and non-licensed staff, mentoring and precepting team members, and participating in quality improvement and regulatory compliance efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform patient assessments and reassessments, making sound independent clinical decisions.
- Develop, prioritize, implement, and revise patient care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Monitor and document patient responses to clinical interventions.
- Provide education tailored to patient and family needs during the hospital stay and at discharge.
- Delegate tasks appropriately and function as a mentor/preceptor to staff.
- Promote teamwork and participate in quality, safety, and service improvement initiatives.
- Comply with regulatory standards and participate in Practice Governance activities.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky
- Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience, including telemetry experience within the last year
- Acute care nursing experience
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification at time of application
