Role Summary
Provides direct patient care on the unit, including assessments, treatments, admissions/transfers/discharges, patient and family education, care coordination, and individualized treatment planning.
Required Qualifications
- RN license
- Nursing practice based on evidence, current research, policies and procedures, regulatory standards, and professional guidelines
Key Responsibilities
- Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments
- Develop and prioritize patient care plans based on patient needs and inter-professional input
- Implement therapies and procedures within scope of practice
- Monitor and respond to changes in patient condition
- Coordinate care for multiple patients and delegate appropriately
- Support discharge planning and discharge teaching
- Participate in unit-based activities and quality improvement efforts
