Provide direct nursing care to cardiovascular medical-surgical patients, including post-operative day one CABG, thoracotomy, and vascular surgery patients.
Perform all unit-specific responsibilities and duties within the scope of nursing practice.
Complete initial patient assessments upon admission and develop individualized plans of care based on patient and family needs.
Implement and modify nursing interventions and patient care procedures through continuous evaluation.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care to support the healthcare team.
Ensure patient and employee safety by identifying and addressing safety hazards and incidents.
Communicate effectively with colleagues and patients, providing constructive feedback and collaborating to enhance professional development.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Conduct hourly patient rounding and proactively assist internal and external customers.
Fulfill all departmental competency requirements.

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois.
Minimum of 3 years of relevant nursing experience, including at least 3 years of Cardiovascular Unit (CVU) experience.
Cardiovascular Unit (CVU) experience within the last year.
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
