PACU Travel Nurse

Location

• Artesia, New Mexico

Schedule

• Day shift
• 8-hour shifts
• Monday through Friday
• Start as soon as possible

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Registered Nurse
• 2 years of experience
• Ortho experience
• BLS
• ACLS
• PALS

Preferred Qualifications

• Endoscopy experience

Assignment Details

• Rotates between Preop, PACU Phase 1, PACU Phase 2, and discharge
• May float occasionally to help on the floor within Preop/PACU
• Call is required, including one weekday call per week and one weekend call per month
• May be asked to participate in holiday call rotation
• Must be able to interpret telemetry
• First-time travelers are accepted

Unit Details

• Preop: 4 beds
• PACU: 6 beds
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: Preop 1:1; PACU 1:1 to 1:2
• Common cases include ortho, gynecology, urology, pain management, podiatry, general surgery, and endoscopy

Additional Information

• Modules must be completed before starting on the floor
• Orientation is 1 week with a preceptor
• Scrubs are provided
