• 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• Illinois RN license required to submit
• BLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS
• 2+ years of recent experience in Cath Lab post recovery (femoral/radial) and stroke care
• Must have drip experience

Preferred

• Phlebotomy
• Meditech familiarity
• Cath Lab post recovery (femoral/radial) and stroke care are highly preferred

Unit Details

• Nurse-to-patient ratios: 4-5 days, 5-6 nights
• Common diagnoses include stroke, CHF, ACS, CAD, post heart cath patients, and arrhythmias
• RNs are not required to titrate drips
• Common titratable medications include Cardizem, Amio, Dopamine, and Heparin
• Telemetry is present on the unit; monitor techs are responsible for central telemetry, and RNs sign off on strips
• Charge nurse has a patient assignment
• Nurse aides are available, with acuity-based coverage
• RT/equipment includes BiPAP and High Flow
• Floating may include ICU, MS, and ER for patients within scope, including ER boarders
• Scrub color: any color
• Department-specific orientation: 2 12-hour shifts

Schedule / Staffing

• Scheduled on shifts most in need
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday rotation required
• No call or standby for agency staff
