Job Description

Med/Surg Nurses provide direct, individualized nursing care to patients using scientific nursing principles. Responsibilities include:

• Collaborating with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans
• Preparing, administering, and documenting medications (oral, subcutaneous, IV)
• Reporting adverse medication reactions per policy
• Educating patients on surgical procedures and post-treatment home care
• Recording medical information and vital signs
• Monitoring and adjusting specialized patient equipment, interpreting electronic displays
• Initiating corrective actions for adverse symptoms
• Providing bedside care for a variety of medical patients, including pre- and post-surgery
• Assisting physicians during examinations and treatments
• Responding to life-saving situations following nursing standards and protocols
• Participating in discharge planning
• Utilizing time management skills and maintaining accurate, timely documentation

Requirements

• Must hold an active Idaho RN license or multi-state compact license
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association required
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg experience in a hospital setting
• Travel experience is not explicitly required
