Travel RN Opportunity - Med/Surg Unit

Location: Farmington, New Mexico
Facility Type: Level II Trauma Center, 43-bed Medical Unit
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit & Role Details

• Specialty: Medical/Surgical (Med/Surg)
• Shift: Nights (7 PM - 7 AM)
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours guaranteed
• Weekend Requirement: At least 2 weekend shifts per month recommended
• Call Requirements: None
• Patient Ratios: 1:5 and 1:6
• Patient Population: Adults (18 years and older)
• Equipment Used: Vital signs machine, bladder scanner, IV pumps, thermal imaging, lifts, tube feeding pumps
• Electronic Health Record (EHR): Cerner

Requirements

• Required Certifications: BLS (must be AHA certified)
• Required Education: ADN (Associate Degree in Nursing)
• Years of Experience in Specialty: Minimum 2 years (Med/Surg experience preferred)
• Preferred Experience:

  • Charge nurse experience preferred but not required
  • Oncology skills helpful but not necessary
• Skills Checklist: Must have at least a 3.2 overall rating on skills checklist

Common Diagnoses/Treatments Encountered

• Cirrhosis
• Sepsis
• Pneumonia
• Respiratory illnesses
• Wounds
• Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)

Additional Notes

• Block scheduling may be considered on a case-by-case basis
• Float requirements as per facility needs
