Job Opportunity: CST/ORT First Assist

Location: Derry, New Hampshire
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Must have robotic and spine surgical experience
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a hospital setting required
• Must hold an active New Hampshire state license at time of submission
• BLS certification required
• Recent OR experience required
• Preferred: CNOR certification and scrub procedure experience

Unit Information

• 4 Operating Rooms
• Staff includes 5 RNs and 6 Surgical Technologists (4 are First Assists)
• Day shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
• Night shift: On-call from 3:30 PM – 7:00 AM (Monday-Friday)
• Procedures performed:

  • Robotic (prostate, hysterectomy)
  • Orthopedic (shoulders, knees, hips, trauma)
  • Gynecological (laparoscopic, robotic, open)
  • General surgery
  • ENT
  • Podiatry
  • Spine surgeries (fusions, laminectomies, ACDF)
• EMR system: Meditech
• Unit recognized as Unit of Distinction (2019)
• Joint Commission certified for knees and hips

Work Environment & Culture

• Flexible and positive attitude preferred
• Floating area includes Endoscopy as needed
• Dress code: Grey scrubs provided and laundered by hospital
• Weekend work: Every 5-6 weekends
• On-call: One night per week

Required Qualifications

• Surgical Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital setting
• Surgical Technologist experience within the last year
• BLS certification
• OR First Assist Certification
• Fit Test
• Robotic surgical experience
• Spine surgical experience
• Recent OR experience
• Surgical First Assistant experience
