Job Opportunity: Technologist - Computed Tomography (CT)

Job Description

• Primarily a CT technologist position; X-ray experience is also required.
• Perform a wide variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgment and critical thinking.
• Apply appropriate skills to facilitate diagnosis, including primary diagnostic Radiology and CT scan tasks.
• Responsibilities may include supervision or instruction of department personnel as assigned.
• Operate and troubleshoot CR, DR, CT, PACS, HIS, and RIS computer systems.
• Perform IV insertion and injections as part of CT procedures.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and practice infection control in compliance with OSHA and hospital policies.
• Complete annual mandatory education including bloodborne pathogens, infection control, and body substance isolation.
• Excellent communication skills required (written, verbal, and electronic messaging).
• Must have own vehicle for this assignment.
• Requested time off (RTO) must be submitted and approved at the time of application; no more than 5 days allowed.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of current CT experience.
• ARRT (CT) Certification (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists).
• Massachusetts Radiology license.
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Ability to function independently and proficiently in a high-stress, work-intensive environment.
• Meditech Expanse experience is highly preferred.
• Must provide:

  • Work history.
  • Skills checklist for Computed Tomography current within 1 year.
  • One supervisory signed reference from within the past two years.
  • All required certifications and licenses uploaded with profile.
• Facility will not consider candidates residing within 50 miles of the work location.

Additional Information

• This is an 8-hour shift position; candidates requesting 10 or 12-hour shifts will not be considered.
• All scheduling requests, including time off, must be made at the time of submission; requests after offer or during interview will not be approved and may result in offer rescindment.
• Non-billable orientation required (8 hours).
• Call-back, overtime, and holiday multipliers apply as per facility policy.
• The facility is a teaching hospital with a state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging department offering 24-hour service.

Summary

This temporary CT technologist role requires a skilled professional with at least 2 years of CT experience, ARRT (CT) certification, and a Massachusetts Radiology license. The position demands strong technical skills, independent judgment, and the ability to work under pressure in an 8-hour afternoon shift. Prior X-ray experience and Meditech Expanse familiarity are advantageous. Candidates must be prepared to comply with strict scheduling and time-off policies and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility.
