Required Qualifications

• Medical Technologist (2 years of experience)
• Medical Technologist experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• National Certification
• Driver's License
• Phlebotomist experience

Experience Notes

• Travel experience is strongly preferred

Work Setting

• Pediatric to geriatric patient population
• Critical access hospital
• Must be able to work independently within two weeks of start date and also function in a team setting

Key Responsibilities

• Obtain blood specimens
• Maintain knowledge of specimen requirements
• Follow correct order of draw based on tube type and special handling needs
• Use proper resources to obtain specimen requirement information
• Collect and enter off-site blood work into the system
• Complete and process forms
• Obtain pre-authorization and patient signature
• Prepare specimens for in-lab testing or off-site shipment
• Keep blood-drawing stations clean and well stocked

Additional Notes

• Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility will not be considered
• Own vehicle required
• Requested time off must be disclosed at submission and is limited to no more than 5 days
• Block scheduling and schedule accommodations will not be considered
• Personal scrubs of any color are allowed
