Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical/Surgical

Location: Dubuque, Iowa
Employment Type: Permanent (Full-time or Part-time)

Unit Information

Opportunities available on two Med/Surg units:
- 5 North: 23-bed medical floor with diverse patient populations including cardiac caths, strokes, CHF, COVID, pneumonia, dialysis (CAPD), and more.
- 5th Floor Med/Surg: 20-bed unit primarily caring for adult patients recovering from surgery, general surgery, and total joint replacements (hip and knee).

Work Schedule

Full-time or part-time options available
Shifts: Days (7a - 7p) or Nights (7p - 7a)
Holiday and weekend rotations required
Weekend package available: 4 consecutive weekends on, every 5th weekend off (for 5N Med/Surg days)

Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality nursing care using the nursing process and clinical skills appropriate to the specialty and unit
Consult hospital resources to provide specialized education
Prioritize patient and workplace safety by preventing errors, accidents, and infections; report concerns immediately
Complete documentation promptly to maintain accurate legal records of patient care
Engage in professional development and share knowledge through networking and research

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited nursing program (must obtain BSN within 12 years of hire)
Current Registered Nurse licensure in good standing in Iowa
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
