Med Surg Registered Nurse (RN) (Nights)

Overview

• Temp assignment in Cedar Rapids, Iowa
• 13-week contract
• Nights, 12 hours per day
• 46-bed unit
• Patient types: Med Surg and all surgical cases except ortho and spine
• Patient ratios: 1:4/5 on days; 1:5/6 on nights
• Scrubs: Black or Blue
• Traveler will float across Med Surg units throughout the hospital

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Iowa
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Driver's License
• Experience with titratable drips: amiodarone, diltiazem, heparin, dobutamine, milrinone
• Equipment experience with chest tubes, JP drain, 3-way foley, NG tube
• Med Surg experience
• Experience with Epic

Preferred

• Professional reference/reference check from within 24 months of today’s date

Additional Notes

• First-time travelers are welcome
• Unless the unit is closed, the contractor is required to work 1–2 of the 3 upcoming summer holidays: Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day
• NBO: 16 hours
