Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract

Location: Metairie, Louisiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night, 4 shifts per week, 12 hours each (18:30 - 7:00)
Hours per Week: 48 (facility open to 36/48 rotating schedule)
Schedule Details:

• Every other weekend off
• No on-call required
• 2 Fridays off in a 4-week schedule

Job Description

• Work in Level 3 Nursery with ability to attend C-Sections
• Responsible for patient transports within the hospital
• Must have Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification to work in NICU

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Louisiana
• Minimum of 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• Experience working with Neonate patients
• Must be able to attend C-sections

Experience Requirements

• Specialty: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics

• Skills checklist updated within 12 months of start and annually
• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam within 12 months of start, updated annually (minimum 80% score)
• Core competencies (Parts I, II, III) required and updated annually

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 12 months of start (not required by facility but required by placement agency)
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years (declinations accepted with proper documentation)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray per current guidelines (two-step skin test or equivalent)
• Annual TB questionnaire regardless of TB test result
• Measles, Mumps, Rubella: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer required; if low titer, two boosters required (can start pending second booster)
• Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination signed within 12 months of start
• Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required; if low titer, two boosters required (can start pending second booster)
• Seasonal flu vaccination required annually (Oct 1 - Mar 31), with medical/religious exemptions accepted; mask required if unvaccinated
