Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Location: Bend, Oregon
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 18:00 - 6:30)
Hours per Week: 36


Job Description

  • Acute, trauma, Emergency Department (ED), and Critical Care experience required.
  • Must be able to work independently in a critical access hospital setting.
  • Required to float within scope to meet needs at four campus locations.
  • Weekend work required at minimum every other weekend; may include additional weekends based on operational needs.
  • On-call is voluntary, not mandatory.
  • Local candidates within 75 miles are not accepted.
  • Pending license applications are accepted.
  • Return to Office (RTO) restrictions: 7 days.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Oregon.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist, including experience within the last year.
  • Completion of at least one travel assignment.
  • Experience working with adult and pediatric patients.
  • Experience in an acute care setting, including adult critical care and emergency department.
  • Certifications required:
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association.
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association.
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association.
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system.

Health and Immunization Requirements

  • TDAP vaccine within 10 years or declination accepted.
  • Negative TB test (QGold) within 1 year; for positive responders, negative chest X-ray within 5 years plus annual TB questionnaire.
  • Annual TB questionnaire required.
  • Positive titers or vaccination for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Hepatitis B (titer required, vaccine series alone not sufficient).
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or agency-approved declination required during flu season.
  • COVID-19 vaccination preferred but not required; declination or exemption required if unvaccinated.

Additional Facility Requirements

  • Clear, passport-style photo with solid background required within 48 hours of signing.
  • Completion of facility-specific confidentiality, compliance, contractual access, and emergency contact forms within 48 hours of signing.
  • Candidates must submit proof of address and directions from facility to legal address.

Notes

  • First-time travel therapists are not accepted.
  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
  • Floating to multiple locations within the system is expected.
  • This is a night shift position with a block schedule.

Traveler friendly. Lots of staff. Busy LDRP but not insanely busy. Bend is a beautiful city with lots of things to do.
