Required Qualifications

Valid, active RN license in South Carolina (or Compact license), in hand prior to start
2+ years of Med Surg experience
Med Surg experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association or Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI)
BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
IV insertion skills

Med Surg RN, Night (3x12), Camden, SC

Position Overview

Location: Camden, South Carolina
Facility: Acute care hospital, 119 staffed beds
Contract length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights, 3x12s, 7p-7a, with holidays as needed (36 hours/week)
Unit: Med Surg, 54 beds
Ratio: 1:6
Weekends: Every other weekend
On-call: Not required
Float: Expected to float within scope to meet facility needs, including between like units and sister facilities
Scrub color: Royal blue
Parking: Free in any unrestricted space. The front and ER entrance parking area is on a hill.
Block schedule: Can be requested before assignment, but approval is not guaranteed
Guaranteed hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
Local candidates: Accepted case by case
Return-to-office: All RTO must be included at submission. Approval depends on facility needs.
First-time travelers: Accepted

Credentialing and Onboarding

Background check: Annual, covering all locations lived or worked in the past 7 years within 1 year of start. Must be run within 90 days of start.
Exclusion screening: EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG, required within 30 days of start and updated with each renewal or extension
Education verification: Required. A diploma or sealed transcript may be used as a placeholder while verification is pending.
Licensure: Primary source verification and Nursys verification
Work history: Verification of the last 3 clinical employers through a third-party vendor. All verification items must be started within 48 hours of signing.
References: Proof of 2 clinical references, including at least one from the same unit
Application: Complete application or resume showing all PTO, contract assignments, and agency names, with no unaccounted gaps
Physical exam: Physical statement within 90 days of start, stating the traveler is in good health and cleared to work without restrictions. Must be updated annually.
Drug screen: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start. No instant tests.
TB: T-SPOT or Q-Gold within 90 days of start
TB questionnaire: Annual
Immunizations: Proof of immunity or vaccination for measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination), and Tdap within 10 years of start (or declination)
Flu vaccine: Required for the 2026-27 flu season. Documentation or an approved exemption must be submitted by December 4, 2026, or the assignment will be terminated.
COVID vaccine: Not required but highly preferred. A declination form is needed if not vaccinated.
Respirator clearance: Annual medical clearance for respirator use
Other documents: Driver's license or state ID, Social Security card, photo for badge, and facility job description, confidentiality agreement, and contractor forms completed before start
Orientation modules: Must be completed on a computer before orientation (about 2 hours). Travelers who have not completed them will be sent home.

Additional Notes

Travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June through November). Travelers should avoid confirming new or extended assignments during that time if this is a concern.
