Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Facility Overview
- Located in Yuba-Sutter County, serving the Marysville area and surroundings.
- 221-bed hospital with 21 physician clinics, home care services, comprehensive cancer care, and various award-winning services.
- Proximity to Bay Area, Sacramento, and Lake Tahoe.
Job Summary
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for assigned patients following established standards and nursing processes.
- Supervise and direct activities of assigned nursing staff.
- Coordinate care with other disciplines using critical thinking, professional judgment, and supervisory discretion.
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Acute care facility experience preferred.
Licenses & Certifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in California (required).
- CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required).
Essential Functions
- Collect and analyze patient health data to determine diagnosis and care issues.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing care plans.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare teams to provide safe, humane, and effective care.
- Provide patient/family education and participate in discharge planning.
- Delegate and coordinate duties among healthcare team members.
Compliance & Organizational Requirements
- All associates must receive required vaccinations as a condition of employment, with medical and religious exemptions considered.
- Participation in E-Verify is required.
Required Documentation & Compliance
Identification & Background
- Current driver’s license or state ID.
- Background check within 30 days of start, covering the last 7 years (social security trace, county/state/federal court jurisdictions, OIG, OFAC, SAM, FACIS 3, National Sex Offender, DMV/MVR if driving required).
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start.
Certifications (AHA or ARC required unless otherwise noted)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) or CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) as required by unit
- NIH Stroke Certification (annual update required)
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (annual)
- Tech Cert Verification (for Radiology Tech/Echocardiogram as applicable)
Competency Exams
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (all RNs and LVNs)
- Color Blind Testing (all candidates)
- Unit-specific Competency Exams (MS, Tele, ICU, ED, L&D, Post Partum, NICU, Pre-Op, OR, PACU, GI Lab, Cath Lab)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (annual update required; required for Tele, ICU, ER)
- Conscious Sedation Competency Exam (unit-specific)
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 90 days of start (not annually required).
- Fit mask testing (N95 preferred) prior to site arrival; onsite testing available as last resort with authorization.
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination within 10 years or positive titer (declinations accepted).
- Negative TB test (QGold/TSpot or 2 PPDs) within 30 days of start, updated annually; chest X-ray if history of positive TB.
- Immunizations or positive titers (or signed declinations) for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- Drug testing within 30 days before start.
- Seasonal Flu vaccination or facility-specific declination/exemption required during flu season (10/31 - 04/30).
- COVID-19 vaccination series required; medical or religious exemptions considered with facility-specific forms. Booster highly recommended.
Additional Requirements
- Two clinical references verified within one year of start.
- Complete employment application/resume with 7-year work history including locations and gaps.
- Unit-specific skills checklist required.
- Various facility-specific documents and acknowledgments must be reviewed and signed prior to start (e.g., confidentiality agreement, waiver of benefits, intellectual property rights).
Notes
- Some certifications and competencies may be unit-specific; verify with the lead Clinical Liaison (CL) for details.
- Background checks and drug testing have specific panel requirements and must be completed timely.
- Vaccination and exemption documentation must be thorough and detailed, especially for religious exemptions.
- Mask fit testing is critical and must be completed before or at orientation with proper authorization.
