Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Conyers, Georgia
Facility: Hospital within Piedmont Healthcare system

Unit Details

Patient diagnoses include Sepsis, ARDS, CHF, Post STEMI, and Vascular cases
Weekend Schedule: Every other weekend
Call: None
Floating: Within facility and scope of practice as needed
Minimum Experience: 2 years (first-time travelers accepted)

Contract Length

15 weeks

Work Requirements

Must work major holidays if they fall during assignment:
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving/Black Friday
- Christmas Eve/Christmas Day
- New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
Full compliance with onboarding and credentialing required to start on time
Orientation hours vary by contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)
Locals accepted at same rate

Required Certifications & Competencies

ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required for RNs in critical care and related specialties
BLS (Basic Life Support): Required for most nursing roles
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): Required for RNs in PACU, Pre-op, Endo, CSU (if pediatric patients accepted), and ER
NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program): Required if applicable
EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring): Online course required within a few months of hire (no renewal required)
State License: Must be valid and verified within 30 days prior to start (Georgia license required)
NURSYS Verification: Annual verification within 30 days prior to start
Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam: Required for RNs and LVNs by Aya
Color Blind Testing: Required for all candidates; alternative assessment available if needed
Competency Exam: Required for Nursing and Allied by Aya only
Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam: Required for Telemetry, ICU, ER, and related units; up to 3 attempts allowed

Background & Compliance Requirements

Background check required within 30 days of start, including:
- County and national criminal searches
- Sex offender registry
- Education verification
Education verification required; can be pending at start with proof of processing
Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; instant drug screen acceptable if close to start date
Physical exam: Required by Aya within 1 year of start
TB testing: Negative PPD, QGold, or TSpot within 12 months; TB questionnaire required annually
Immunizations:
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer required
- Hepatitis B: Series, antibody titer, or signed declination required
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required
- Flu vaccine or declination required during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31)

References: 2 clinical references required by Aya
Skills checklist: Must be updated within 12 months
Work history verification of most recent employer required; can be pending at start with proof of processing
Must review and sign facility-specific policies including Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy

Notes

Manager review of candidate profile and schedule fit occurs within 48 hours after confirmation
Maximum Return to Office (RTO) time is 7 days
If compliance is not met on time, start date may be pushed back by 2 weeks due to orientation scheduling
