Position Details

Certifications & Licenses Required

  • BLS (Basic Life Support): Required
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required (AHA only)

  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program): AHA or AAP required
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course): Check unit description for requirement
  • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring): If applicable, required
  • State License: Primary source verification required; Missouri licenses verifiable on NURSYS
  • IV Certification: Required for LPNs/LVNs at Missouri facilities
  • Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) or CPI: Required if applicable
  • NIH Stroke Certification: Required for all nurses; must be updated annually

Experience Requirements

  • Criminal background check within 6 months required (7-year search including statewide and nationwide)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required quarterly

  • Seasonal flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption required during flu season (09/30 - 04/01)

Additional Requirements

  • Two professional references required (supervisors within last year preferred)
  • Unit-specific competency exams required annually
  • Skills checklist required within 1 year of start (oncology skills checklist if applicable)
  • Various facility-specific documents and acknowledgements (HIPAA, confidentiality, latex allergy, hand hygiene, dress code, etc.) must be completed prior to start
  • Orientation modules required for RNs and LVNs, typically completed through online training platform

Work Environment & Expectations

  • Floating within scope expected/preferred when no CVOR surgeries scheduled
  • On-call shifts 1-2 nights per week plus every 3rd-4th weekend
  • Weekend work every other weekend
