Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (ER) - Travel/Contract
Location: Tyler, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: 3x12 hour nights
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (ER)

- Charting System: Epic (experience required)
- Unit Size: 14 rooms/beds
Required Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- Additional certifications as applicable: NRP, CHEMO, Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB), NIH Stroke Certification, CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
Required Licenses
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Texas
- Primary source online verification required (e.g., NURSYS verification)
Required Documentation & Compliance
- I9 verification
- Driver’s License/State ID
- E-Verify compliance
- 7-year background check (including SS trace, county searches, nationwide, sex offender, education verification)
- Education verification (transcript or diploma acceptable if final verification pending)
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit test within 1 year of start (must be renewed annually)
- Immunizations and health screenings:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- TB questionnaire (if applicable)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: positive titer or 2 vaccines required
- Hepatitis B: positive titer, series, or declination accepted
- Varicella: positive titer, 2 vaccines, or physician-documented history required
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (declinations not accepted)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
- Skills checklist and work history verification (7 years)
- Employment application/resume required
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
- Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, with at least some experience within the last year
- Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
- Current ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Current PALS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Additional Notes
- Candidates residing in certain Texas counties are not eligible for this contract.
- Orientation packet and safety manual acknowledgment required prior to start.
- Clear headshot photo required for badge.
- Fingerprinting required only for New Mexico placements (not applicable here).
This position is ideal for experienced ER Registered Nurses with prior travel experience who are proficient in Epic charting and hold the required certifications and licenses.
