Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

Required Skills and Experience

• Experience in NICU and high-risk deliveries (must have experience)
• Experience with umbilical cord gases
• Experience with Draeger and Servo I ventilators
• Pulmonary toileting
• ABG (Arterial Blood Gas) interpretation
• Basic EKG
• BiPAP, CPAP
• Trach collar management
• Surfactant administration

Work Environment and Schedule

• Unit uses Epic electronic health record system
• Scrub color: Hunter Green
• Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
• Weekend shifts: Every other weekend unless otherwise specified
• Floating: Yes, within facility including adult care and possibly to sister campus
• Holiday work: Expected to work major holidays if they fall during assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day)

Compliance and Orientation

• Full compliance required to start on time; delays in compliance may result in a 2-week pushback due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
• Number of non-billable orientation hours depends on contract length (e.g., 12 weeks = 12 hours orientation)

Required Background and Health Documents

• Background check required within 30 days of start, including education verification and criminal searches
• Diplomas required for RRTs
• State license verification (must be licensed by the State of Georgia)
• Annual NURSYS verification for RN, LPN/LVN, AP if applicable
• Physical exam within 1 year of start (Aya requirement)
• Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months
• TB questionnaire required annually
• Immunizations/vaccinations required or proof of immunity:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (series, titer, or declination)
  • Varicella
• Flu vaccination or declination required during flu season
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (cannot start with results pending)

Competency Exams and Testing

• Medication test/pharmacology competency exam (Aya requirement)
• Color blind testing required for all candidates
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for relevant specialties (including NICU)
• Competency exam required for nursing and allied health by Aya

Additional Notes

• Floating may include adult care units and sister campuses
• Candidates must review and sign facility-specific policies such as Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy prior to start
• References: 2 clinical references required by Aya (not client requirement)
• Skills checklist and work history verification required within 12 months (can be pending at start with proof of processing)
