Job Description & Requirements
- Role: Interventional Radiology with Neuro IR experience required.
- Schedule: 4x10 hour shifts plus on-call with a 30-minute response time.
- On-Call: Required.
- Scrub Experience: Required.
- Experience Required:
- Minimum 2 years of specialty experience overall.
- Candidates with 1 year of experience accepted only if they have both neuro IR and scrub experience.
- Emergency Team: Upon starting, you may be assigned to an "Emergency Team" with expectations to stay onsite during emergency events or be part of relief teams.
- Licensure: Must apply for allied health licensure within 72 hours of signing the contract.
- Backfill Position: This is a backfill assignment.
Certifications & Licenses
- State License: Active Louisiana state license or Compact License required upon submission. Renewal must be completed prior to start if expiring within 30 days.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): AHA or RQI accepted. Renewal required if expiring within 30 days of start.
- BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA or RQI accepted. Renewal required if expiring within 30 days of start.
- Other Certifications:
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) required unless working in ICU.
- Tech Certification Verification (National) relevant to Radiology Tech required and must be current.
- Competency Exam: Must be completed within 1 year prior to start with a minimum score of 80%. Annual updates required.
Background & Compliance Requirements
- Background Check: 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, including SSN trace, all names used, all counties lived in, national criminal check, FACIS 3, OFAC.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM & HHS/OIG Checks: Required within 30 days of start and updated monthly.
- Education Verification: Required for candidates without a state license.
- Sex Offender Search: Required within 30 days of start and updated monthly.
- Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start. Instant screenings not accepted.
- Photo for Badge: Full color, passport-style photo required within 24 hours of booking.
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical Exam: Required within 12 months of start, indicating good physical health.
- Fit Mask Testing: Annual fit testing required for N95 masks. Onsite fit testing available if needed.
- Immunizations: Must meet one of the following for each:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- TB Testing: Negative TB test (PPD, Qgold, or Tspot) within 12 months of start, updated annually. For positive results, additional documentation required.
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap: Tdap required for certain departments; good for 10 years.
- Flu Vaccination: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Apr 30) with vaccine, declination, or medical/religious exemption.
Additional Notes
- Candidates must be comfortable with emergency event assignments and potential extended onsite presence.
- Must be able to respond within 30 minutes when on call.
- Skills checklist and employment application required.
- Must provide 7 years of employment history with explanations for any gaps.
