Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Uvalde, Texas

Shift: 3x12 hour night shifts

• Small facility setting
• Unit focus: Postpartum, Mother Baby, Labor & Delivery
• EMR system: Meditech
• Block scheduling allowed
• Locals allowed, no radius restrictions
• First-time travelers accepted

Experience & Skills Requirements

• Minimum 1+ year of experience in specialty (Labor and Delivery)
• Required skills: Experience with C-sections
• License required (pending license acceptable at time of submission)
• Prior travel experience: Not required

Certifications (as applicable)

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – as required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – as required
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – as required

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Proof of I9 or Attestation
• Government issued photo ID required
• Proof of E-Verify or Attestation
• Residency Declaration Form (if working on a compact license)
• Background checks including 7-year criminal check, SS trace, counties, nationwide, sex offender, FACIS Level 3
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
• Education verification upon request
• Medication/Pharmacology competency exams as applicable
• Competency exams and core testing as applicable
• Physical exam within last 12 months (not required annually)
• N95 Fit Test within 1 year of start
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (updated annually)
• Required immunizations or proof of immunity:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• 9 Panel Drug Screen within 1 year of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or declination (mask required if declining)
• COVID-19 vaccination proof required prior to start; religious/medical exemptions considered

Additional Notes

• Scrubs are not provided; any solid color scrub is acceptable
• References: 2 professional references required for travel positions, must be within 2 years
• Performance evaluations required if previously worked with the agency over 1 year
• Skills checklist must be updated annually for applicable units

This position offers an opportunity to work in a focused Labor and Delivery environment with a supportive small facility, suitable for nurses with at least 1 year of relevant experience and skills in C-sections. Night shifts and some weekend work are required.
