Job Opportunity: EP Lab Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)
Location: Washington, District of Columbia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Shift: 36 hours per week, Day/Evening shifts (0700-1700 / 1100-2100) with three days of late case coverage per week
- Experience Required: Minimum 1 year EP Lab clinical experience
- Traveler Friendly: Accepts first-time travelers with required EP experience
- On Call/Weekend/Floating: None required
Required Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC certified
- CCI RCES/RCIS
Preferred Certifications:
- ARRT
- Fluoroscopy permit
Required Skills & Experience
- Proficient with Cerner electronic health records
- Experience in Electrophysiology (EP) Lab procedures including hemodynamic monitoring and ablations
- EKG settings and experience required for inpatient and outpatient care, including obtaining vitals and sinus node rhythms
- Equipment experience required: Philips and Siemens X-Ray machines, GE Micropacer
- Preferred equipment experience: 3D mapping systems (Biosense, Abbott/ESI), Siemens and GE ultrasound, laser lead machine
- Preferred skills: Groin closure device, peripherals, laser lead extraction

- Cardiac Electrophysiology studies
- Head-Up-Tilt test
- Cardioversion
- Internal Loop Recorder
- Atrial flutter/fibrillation ablations
- Supraventricular and ventricular tachycardia ablations
- Device implants (Watchman, Aveir, Pacemaker, Defibrillator)
- Device explants and lead extractions

- Total Staffed Beds: 748
- Charting Systems: Cerner, GE Cardiolab
- Medication Dispensing: Pyxis
- Scrubs Provided
- Average Daily Caseload: 18 cases
- Flu vaccine required for all employees
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- I9 and E-Verify attestation required upon hire
- Valid Driver’s License required if driving is essential to the job
- Criminal background check within 90 days of start, including multi-state and federal searches
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required prior to start and monthly thereafter
- Education verification for highest degree required by position
- Annual orientation safety manual acknowledgement
- State license verification prior to start
- Medication and pharmacology competency exams required within 3 years of start, passing score 80%+
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required annually for EP Lab and related units (RN only)
- Color blindness testing required (online or in-person)
- Physical exam annually confirming ability to work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
- N95 fit test within 9 months of start, updated annually (client may complete onsite if needed)
- Immunizations and health documentation required:
- Flu vaccine or approved exemption (strict guidelines)
- COVID-19 vaccination strongly recommended; declination requires mask use
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (preferred within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframes
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) documentation or titers
- Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or titer
- Drug screen within 90 days of start, includes multiple substances (excluding marijuana), updated annually for extensions/returning candidates
References & Work History
- Two positive supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment, supporting at least two years of experience within the last three years
- Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education, employment, licenses, and contact information
- Minimum two years of employment in the past seven years required, with at least one travel or per diem assignment completed
Additional Notes
- No on-call, weekend, or floating requirements
- Preferred work settings include trauma and children’s hospitals
- Facility provides scrubs
- Flu vaccine is mandatory for employment at this facility
