Travel Registered Nurse (ICU) - Vermont
Location
- Burlington, Vermont
Contract Length
- 16 weeks
Unit / Specialty
- Surgical ICU (SICU) with floating to Medical ICU (MICU) as needed
Schedule
- Must be willing to work potentially all weekend shifts
- Minimum of every other weekend required and/or schedule adjusted to meet unit and patient care needs
- Monday to Sunday coverage
- No block schedules

Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Vermont
- Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- One completed travel nursing assignment
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
- Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) experience
- Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) experience
- Hemodynamic device experience
- Experience with EPIC electronic medical record system
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
Prior Travel Experience
- Prior travel experience required
Additional Requirements
- Floating between SICU and MICU required
- Flexible schedule and willingness to work weekends
- Solid color scrubs only
- Reliable personal or rental vehicle strongly recommended (public transportation not accessible)
- Vehicles should have all-season or snow tires November through April
Orientation
- Bi-weekly orientations on Mondays
Compliance and Documentation
- Complete and thorough work history including bed count, EMR, and facility type required
- Background check within 30 days of start covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
- Education verification as applicable
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- N95 fit test required prior to assignment and updated annually
- Immunizations and health documents required including:
- Tdap within 10 years
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray if positive TB
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B series and titer or signed declination
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption (required during flu season)
- COVID-19 vaccination or declination
- Pneumonia vaccination or declination if assigned to NY facility
- Drug testing as required by facility policies
- Vermont Adult and Child Abuse Registry consent and background checks
- Vermont Crime Information Center (VCIC) background check for Vermont placements
- Completion of EPIC and Cornerstone modules prior to start
- Compliance with facility dress code and telephone usage policies
- Photo for badge required two weeks prior to start
- Emergency contact form and other facility-specific documents required
This position requires a highly flexible ICU nurse with prior travel experience, strong critical care skills, and the ability to work weekends and float between units in a large teaching hospital environment.
