Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)

Job Description

• Support cardiologists, registered nurses, and radiology staff in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab.
• Perform technical analysis and assist in procedures under supervision of Cardiologist or Interventional Radiologist.
• Provide patient assessment, monitoring, and communication to ensure safe and precise treatment.
• Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations, policies, and procedures to ensure patient privacy and safety.
• May mentor and train students.
• Call coverage required; schedule varies during weekdays and weekends.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in California.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist, with experience within the last year.
• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) or RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) certification required.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.

Background and Compliance Requirements

• 7-year background check including SSN trace, county searches, sex offender, education verification, and more.
• FACIS Level 3 screening required within 2 weeks of start and monthly thereafter.
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required and updated annually.
• Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana due to CA law).
• Physical exam within 1 year of start.
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually.
• Immunizations and titers required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 90 days, renewed annually
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
  • Hepatitis B series or declination
  • Varicella immunity or vaccination
  • Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (Nov-April) or signed declination
• Respiratory safety clearance required prior to start and renewed annually.
• Color blindness exam required if applicable.

Additional Certifications (Position Dependent)

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) may be required depending on position.
• Other certifications such as PALS, NRP, CCRN, TNCC, EFM, CPI, NIH Stroke Certification may be required based on role specifics.
