Job Opportunity: Ambulatory Care Nurse (LVN / LPN)
Location: Worcester, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Work setting: Hospital-based clinic covering outpatient services and inpatient consults
- Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
- Weekend Requirement: No weekends required
- Charting system: Epic (experience preferred)
Required Qualifications
- Valid LPN / LVN license in Massachusetts
- Minimum 2 years of Ambulatory Care experience, with at least 1 year within the last year
- Completion of at least one travel assignment
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Valid government-issued ID required
- Massachusetts Statewide iCORI Release (time sensitive)
- 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, including SSN trace, county search, national criminal search, and federal exclusions
- Education verification of highest completed education (transcript acceptable if verification unavailable)
- Drug test within 30 days of start (specific drug panels required)
- Physical exam within 12 months of start, including physician statement of fitness without restrictions
- Immunizations or valid declinations required for:
- COVID-19 (most recent vaccine or declination)
- Flu seasonal vaccine or declination (required during flu season)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (declinations not accepted for Pediatrics, NICU, Maternity)
- MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Rubeola, Rubella, Mumps (declinations not accepted for Pediatrics, NICU, Maternity)
- Tuberculosis screening: Two PPD tests or equivalent within required timeframes; positive TB requires chest X-ray and facility-specific questionnaire
- Medication and Telemetry exams (pass/fail testing) required on first day of orientation with minimum 80% score; only one attempt allowed
- NURSYS license verification within 30 days prior to start
- Employment application documenting 7 years of employment history with explanations for gaps over 30 days
- Two professional references within the last three years
Additional Notes
- Candidates must complete required competency exams and certifications as applicable
- Some certifications (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP) may be required depending on unit assignment; check specialty requirements if applicable
- Facility-specific declinations for vaccines must be updated annually where allowed
- Candidates declining updated COVID vaccine must complete a declination form by specified deadlines
- Compliance with all background checks, immunizations, and documentation is mandatory prior to start
