Job Opportunity: Outpatient Physical Therapist

Location: Abilene, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Outpatient Physical Therapist role
  • Schedule: Monday to Thursday 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Friday 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM, with some variation as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Physical Therapist license in Texas

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
  • I-9 or attestation form
  • E-Verify or attestation
  • Background check:
    • 7-year background check required within 1 year of start, updated annually
    • Includes SSN trace, county, national, OFAC, sex offender, motor vehicle check (for home health only), and education verification
  • Education verification: transcript or diploma required
  • State-specific checks for Texas (Employability Status Check and Employee Misconduct Registry) within 30 days of start
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract
  • Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen including THC within 10 business days prior to start; facility will conduct additional drug screen on arrival
  • Immunizations and health requirements:
    • TDAP vaccine within 10 years
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (PPD or blood test) within 1 year
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
    • Hepatitis B immunity or vaccination series or declination
    • Varicella immunity or vaccination
    • Seasonal flu vaccine required during flu season (with religious or medical exemption accepted)
  • Fit mask (3M 1860 Regular or 1860S) required, updated annually
  • References: 2 references within 3 years of start
  • Resume or employment application required
  • Skills checklist updated annually
  • Facility-specific documents and acknowledgments must be reviewed and signed prior to start

Additional Notes

  • Orientation includes mandatory modules (~3-4 hours)
  • Parking available for orientation and employment
  • Pass/fail testing on medication/pharmacology competency may be required as applicable
  • Some certifications and competencies may be required based on clinical setting and patient population
