Cath Lab Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job - Beckley, West Virginia

Position Details

• Job Title: Cath Lab Registered Nurse
• Location: Beckley, West Virginia
• Employment Type: Travel/Contract
• Shift: Day shift, 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM)
• Call Requirements: 1-2 call shifts during the week; 1-2 weekends per month
• Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work in the Cath Lab providing nursing care during cardiac catheterization procedures.
• Scrubs and lead apron provided for cases.
• Must have housing within 30 minutes for STEMI (heart attack) call response.
• Interventional Radiology (IR) experience is a plus but not required.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in West Virginia.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab.
• Cardiac Cath Lab experience within the last year.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Unexpired government-issued photo ID (e.g., Driver’s License or State ID).
• Complete background checks including national and county searches, sex offender registry, and federal exclusions.
• Employment application/resume with education and work history.
• Two professional references within 1 year of start date (one must be a supervisor or higher).
• Work history verification covering the last 7 years (third-party verification preferred).
• Annual physical exam or physician’s note stating clearance to work without restrictions.
• Drug testing within 30 days of start using a specified 9-panel bundle (no THC) with expanded opiates and oxycodone.
• Required immunizations and health documentation:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (valid within 10 years; declinations accepted if within 1 year)
  • Negative TB test via QuantiFERON blood test within 1 year (T-Spot/PPD not accepted)
  • Proof of immunity or vaccination for Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
  • Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination (declination must be within 1 year)
  • Varicella immunity or vaccination
• Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season.
• Fit mask testing completed onsite (PAPRs not accommodated; exemptions reviewed onsite).
• Competency exams including medication/pharmacology, dysrhythmia/EKG (except Psych, OR, Rehab, Med Surg), and core competencies required annually.
• Specialty job description signed and dated, renewed annually.
• State-specific checks: West Virginia APS/CPS search results required annually.

Additional Notes

• Candidates must be able to respond promptly for STEMI call with housing within 30 minutes.
• Orientation safety manual acknowledgment required.
• Medication and competency exams must be current within one year prior to start.
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification is not required for this specialty.
• Candidates should be prepared for 4/10 hour shifts Monday through Friday with some weekend and call coverage.
