Job Description

• Experience in Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) and Critical Care Unit (CCU) preferred, specifically recovery experience.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) within the last year
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Background and Compliance Requirements

• 7-year background check completed within 30 days of start; must be updated annually. Includes multiple federal and state-level checks.
• Employment application covering 7 years of employment history with explanations for any gaps.
• Two clinical references required, preferably supervisor level or above (Charge RNs acceptable).
• Skills checklist current within the last year and applicable to the position.

Health and Safety Requirements

• Facility-specific physical exam completed by a physician within 30 days prior to start.
• Fit test for N95 mask (Halyard Fluidshield or 3M 1860) completed within 12 months prior to start.
• Negative TB test (QGold, TSpot, or PPD) within 1 year; if positive, clear chest x-ray and questionnaire required.
• Immunizations or positive titers required for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (antibody and antigen results required; proof of vaccine series alone is insufficient)
• Seasonal flu vaccination required between October 1 and April 30 (declinations allowed for religious or medical reasons).
• COVID-19 vaccination series preferred.
• Standard 9-panel drug screen required within 30 days prior to start; rapid drug tests not accepted.

• Driver’s license or state ID with clear picture and address required.
• State license verification must be completed within 30 days of start; license issues will result in automatic cancellation.
