Labor and Delivery RN

Overview

Travel/contract role in San Francisco, California
Night shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
36 hours per week
Contract length: 13 weeks
Weekend rotation required
No on-call

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in California
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
2 years of experience in OB
2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery
Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure
EFM - Electronic Fetal Monitoring
Experience with Epic

Additional Requirements

Unit-specific skills checklist
Full 7-year work history in the application, including city and state for each location
Employment gaps over 30 days must be explained
Background check and other pre-start screening/documentation requirements apply
TB screening and annual renewal required
Fit test required within 1 year of start and annually thereafter
Physical exam required within 1 year of start
Drug screen required within 6 months of start
Flu vaccination documentation required during flu season unless exempt
Color vision deficiency, if present, must be documented by an in-person exam before start

Job Duties

Assess, coordinate, deliver, and evaluate nursing care in an acute patient setting
Provide direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care
Develop and coordinate individualized plans of care
Maintain collaborative communication with patients, families/support groups, physicians, and other healthcare providers
