RN MS/Oncology – Surgical Oncology Unit

Overview

  • Travel/Contract role in Aurora, Colorado
  • Night shift: 3x12 hours, 19:00–7:00
  • 36 staffed beds
  • Unit uses Epic
  • Weekend work required per unit needs
  • On-call not required
  • Floating required as needed, including to sister facilities based on facility needs
  • Navy scrubs

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Colorado
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • 2 years of oncology experience
  • Oncology experience within the last year
  • Experience in an acute care setting
  • Experience in a teaching hospital setting
  • Surgical oncology experience

  • None stated

Unit / Clinical Focus

  • Surgical oncology unit
  • Primarily cares for patients with known cancer diagnoses needing surgical interventions
  • Common procedures and diagnoses involve abdominal or pelvic areas, including Gynecologic Oncology, Colorectal, Pancreatic, Liver, and Stomach
  • Provides post-op nursing care to help patients reach discharge milestones
  • No chemotherapy or biotherapy is administered on the unit
  • Chemo certification is not required
